RACE COURSES:
Unlimited Class
Unlimited (any horsepower):
Two boats will run head to head. Jets are ok to race against props on straight line course. Order on the first bracket will be picked by boat type at random by booth officials. Boats will use a rolling start, beginning in the harbor. The Start boat will wave a green flag to signal the start at or around the Breakwater marked “START” on map. Run is a single straight line to the Finish. End of race is signaled by a checkered flag in line with the finish buoy and the dolphin off the North side of City Dock marked “FINISH” on the map. The number of boats will determine the number of heats. This may be a single or double elimination race, depending on number of entrants. Boats MUST stay to the outside of buoys 13 –15. Boats will return to the pit on step straight back on the course to the breakwater. Safety boats will direct them back into the harbor. Notes: Buoys are numbered in red, 1-18. Buoys 1-8 are track buoys, and buoys 9-18 are boundary/buffer zone buoys. Track and buffer buoys will be of different color. Black line is buffer zone, no unofficial traffic allowed during races. Circular course is one mile long per lap. Harbor will be closed for duration of races. Harbor Department will direct traffic to other harbors, and safety boats will monitor activity. All boats must remain on the outside of #13 - #15 boundary buoys, these are positioned at least 120 feet away from City Dock. All other boat traffic will stay out side the boundary buoys by at least 360 feet. Safety boats will stop unofficial traffic. Updated 5/30/2019 |
