Two Age Categories: 6-9 & 10-13
Rules: No parents allowed on floats unless they are one of the volunteers.
All children must bring life preservers and wear them.
Hand lines only. No rod or reels. One hook per line, one line per person. Contestants must bait their own hook and land their own fish if determined necessary. Any kind of bait can be used. Bait will be supplied for children who do not have their own.
In case of a tie for the largest fish, a “fish-off” will be conducted with the contestant catching the first fish the winner. Each winning fish will be eligible for one prize only. Derby officials will decide any questions not covered by the rules and their decision will be final. The largest and smallest starfish will win money prize but will not be counted for the bike or rod prize.

The hot saw event starts with the saw off and on the ground, the competitor's hands must be resting on top of the block they are about to cut until the "GO" signal is given. On the signal "GO" the competitor reaches down, starts and picks up the saw, he then proceeds to cut three slices off the end of the block, about 1” thick, one down cut, one up cut, and one down cut. Time starts on the signal "GO" and ends when the third disk is completely severed.
A waiver of responsibility must be signed before any contestant may participate. This waiver provides that you enter the contest at your own risk. The CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LOGGING SHOW is a performance as well as a contest and we request that all contestants dress as loggers, complete with hard hats & gloves. All contestants in money events are required to wear caulked or sturdy boots. No rubber boots or sneakers. In the interest of safety for all and the protection of the equipment used in the show, any participant who is unable to operate equipment normally or compete safely due to any form of intoxication, (in the opinion of the judges) will not be allowed to participate. The decision of the chairman will be final!
